The day has finally arrived. It’s Hysterectomy day.
Am I nervous? Oh no. I’m beyond nervous. I have spent the last few days getting ready and as much as you try to prepare yourself for something like this, you can’t avoid feeling anxious and apprehensive. I didn’t get much sleep last night, but I got a few solid hours of overthinking like a psycho done. lol
Seriously. The thoughts that have gone through my head the last 24 hours are INSANE. They have ranged from…what if I don’t wake up from surgery….to….what if everything is so bad that they can’t complete the surgery… I don’t think these thoughts will stop until the anesthesiologist knocks me out.
I don’t have a lot of time to write this morning, so this post is going to be short and sweet. I need to go scrub my body with a surgical antiseptic sponge. Kevin also has his Bone Marrow Transplant appointment today too, so it’s going to be a hectic day!
As promised, I do have some checklists done and I will post the links to the PDFs at the end of this post. These lists are based on what I have done personally to prepare for this day and answers to questions I have asked in my Hysterectomy support group. The lists are subject to change depending on how the next few days go. I might have more points to add to them once I have experienced everything. Also, if you have any suggestions to add to the lists, please feel free to comment below.
Well, here goes my uterus! I can’t believe it, but it’s happening! At approximately 12:30am, I am cancelling my monthly subscription! I will post an update as soon as I can. Sayonara PERIODS!
I won’t be posting to the blog right away, as I won’t have my laptop with me at the hospital, but I will post a quick update on Facebook when my mind allows.
Wishing you all an awesome day!!! Thanks for stopping by!
